Google Cloud announced an expanded collaboration with Sponix Tech, the Qatar-based sports technology provider, that has been providing a first-of-its-kind immersive match experience for football fans around the world. Leveraging Google Cloud’s infrastructure, Sponix Tech has provided two differentiated technology solutions that are used by broadcasters, football leagues and clubs in the Middle East and Europe.

For each game, Sponix Tech team was creating three to four videos and sending it back to RMC Sports production team. The processing time of creating each video was between 7 to 18 minutes; a great record in the business which shows how much the technology is advanced.

UAE Pro League Committee’s experiment with AR and POV in sports broadcast
The UAE Cup concluded in March with Shabab Al Ahli beating Al Wahda in the final, played at the Hazza Bin Zayed (HBZ) Stadium in Al Ain.To capture the emotion on the field for football fans, the Pro League Committee (PLC) applied the latest technologies in sports broadcast for these matches. The tournament started in August last year and a total of 45 matches were played.
